Research Grant. Deadline: Monday 14 April 2014

A selection announcement has been published for the awarding of a research grant for the FP7 research project entitled “Families And Societies: Changing families and sustainable societies:  Policy contexts and diversity over the life course and across generations”( http://www.familiesandsocieties.eu/ ) to be conducted at the Department of Statistical Sciences (http://www.stat.unipd.it/ ) at University of Padua.

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in a discipline connected with the study of population and/or family change (e.g.demography, applied statistics, quantitative sociology) or must be PH.D. students – who are ready to discuss their thesis – with  documented academic and professional experience in population and family change studies;

Applicant must have a good command of academic English (both written and spoken) and experience in demographic research and/or in quantitative analysis of households and/or international comparative surveys.

The research grant lasts 12 months for a gross amount of € 19.367.

The purpose of this research grant, which is funded by EU-FP7, is to fund research into:

1) The determinants of childlessness in Europe.

2) Fathers’ involvement in care activities.
