Located within the School of Geography, Planning & Environmental Management, the Queensland Centre for Population Research (QCPR) is one of the leading centres of population research in Australia. It is distinct in its focus on the regional and spatial dimensions of population change.
The role
The successful appointee will be enthusiastic about demographic research and practice, and possess excellent quantitative and computing skills. He/she will take an important role in the Centre’s work for its major research partners, the Queensland and New South Wales Governments, as well as contribute to various academic research projects in demography. The position offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in novel applied demographic work which directly informs planning and policymaking across Australia.
The person
Applicants should possess a degree in a relevant discipline, preferably at postgraduate level. They should have excellent Microsoft Excel skills, knowledge of demographic methods, demonstrated abilities in both academic and non-technical writing, and strong inter-personal skills.
Remuneration
This is a full-time or part-time, fixed term appointment for one year with possible extension at Research Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $58,763 – $79,709 p.a. depending on qualifications, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $68,753 – $93,260 p.a.).
